An easy, fast and safe to use multipurpose device which:

 * Releases vacuum and opens margarine tubs.
 * Automatically grips screw tops/caps on jars, bottles and other containers.
 * Opens child/tamper proof containers including tear-off strip removal.
 * Opens ring-pull tins and crown cap ring-pulls.
 * Permits one hand fitting & one/two hand holding of the container (see instructions).
 * Tightens caps/tops to prevent young children removing them.
 * Removes batteries from handsets, assists in removing wrappings, etc.

VACUUM RELEASE 
Try this first on new jars and the top will unscrew easily by hand.
 

Push lightly towards the jar and lever up the rim gently to let in air (the top will pop).
Also lifts the rim of margarine tubs.
 

UNSCREWING AND TIGHTENING JAR AND BOTTLE TOPS
 Fit the quick easy way!

Step 1.  Lower the belt around the top and rest the CapGrippa on the top.

Push forward on the lower edge of both metal lugs to increase the loop size.
Touch the end of the belt to form a circular loop.
 

Step 2.  Tighten the belt (which is self aligning around the rim).

Hold down the CapGrippa on the top with one hand and pull back on the upper edge of both metal lugs to take up the slack. (Ignore the belt sticking out beyond the jar).
 
 

Step 3.  Gently unscrew.

You can also use two hands to grip the jar. Restrain the end of the handle against your body or a wall beside a worktop.
 
 
 

Step 4.  Release the top.

Hold the CapGrippa and push forward on the lower edge of both metal lugs.

OPENING PUSH-UP TOPS

Lift the end of the strip using the edge of the plate and fit the end of the strip into the slot to pull the strip.
Line up the marks on the cap and body and press the edge of the plate into the gap to prise off the top.
 
 

CHILD RESISTANT CAPS

Press down on the back edge with the palm of the hand (so that the CapGrippa tilts slightly) and twist anti clockwise.
 
 
 

RING-PULL TINS

Hook the spike under the ring and push the CapGrippa back and down to peel off the top.
 
 
 

OPENING OTHER ITEMS

The "spike" on the end of the handle can be used where a finger nail might normally be used to open a container, remove batteries, etc, and will pierce many types of wrappings and fit under the folds of shrink wrapped items to rip the wrapping.
 

ONE HAND FITTING for Jars & Bottles (alternative method)

Check the belt is clear of the front slot after extending. Push fully down vertically onto the top  (squeezing the loop out sideways) and then tilt back to the horizontal. The belt will then slide out around the rim. Keep the CapGrippa resting on the top and pull back the metal lugs to tighten.
Store the CapGrippa with the belt partially extended to prevent a small kink forming at the end of the belt which may reduce reliability of this method.

Note: The CapGrippa Clamp is available for holding jars, bottles, containers, etc on a worktop.
 

Cleaning & Maintenance

To maintain hygiene and maximum efficiency, or if the belt comes in contact with a contaminated cap, clean the CapGrippa  belt by rubbing washing-up liquid on the belt surface. Rinse and dry completely before using. Do not leave the CapGrippa soaking in water.
After a considerable period of use it may become necessary to add one small drop of oil, or a spot of grease, onto the internal rod to maintain a smooth sliding action.

Caution

Do not over tighten tops when using the CapGrippa or damage to the top may result.
Do not attempt to lift a jar or bottle by means of the CapGrippa when it is fitted to the top. It is designed for turning action only.
Do not use the "spike" to open press-in metal tin lids, eg. paint tins etc.
Do not use to remove oil filters and other non domestic items.

Cap/top size range    25 - 100 mm diameter.

The CapGrippa is suitable for normally tightened bottle caps and jar tops and may not always be able to release seized up caps/tops due to corrosion or a build up of hardened contents on the threads.
